El Porvenir is the capital of the Panamanian comarca (indigenous territory) of Kuna Yala. The settlement is located on a small island and contains a landing strip, a museum (the Museo de la Nación Kuna - Museum of the Kuna Nation), a hotel, a few government offices, and an artisans' cooperative.[1] There is also a small beach.[1][2]
